Embark on a journey and explore the highlights of Cuba. On this 8-day program you will discover all of the colors of this Caribbean jewel. Embrace the beauty of both sides of Cuba, the urban and the q

Day 1: Havana

Pack your passport, and board your flight to Havana. After landing in Havana airport, you will be transferred to a casa particular. Kick off with a walking tour of UNESCO protected Old Havana led by an expert local guide, who will provide you with an overview of everything that shaped Cuba’s capital into what it is today. In the evening, you will learn all about one of Cuba’s most coveted exports – rum! Participate in a cocktail class, and learn how to make the perfect mojito. Stay overnight in Havana.

Day 2: Havana

Start your day with a traditional breakfast prepared by your hosts, and then hop in an old 1950’s vintage convertible for a comprehensive car tour of the city, where you will cover some of the sites not within walking distance, such as Vedado, Miramar, Colon Cemetery, Revolution Square, Malecon, El Cristo Statue and El Morro. Finish your tour with a drink at Hotel Nacional. Rest of the afternoon spend on utilizing some of the recommendations you will get from your local guide. After a fulfilling day of discovering and interacting with the people of Havana, you are ready to sleep like a baby. Stay overnight.

Day 3: Havana - Vinales - Havana

Breakfast will be served. Your adventure will continue as you depart to Viñales, where you will explore the majestic countryside of Cuba. When you arrive, you will embark on a tour of the township and the farmlands in the vicinity. After building up an appetite during your tour, you will enjoy a lunch at a local farm. Continue on to see the Mural de la Prehistoria, a 60-foot painting on the side of a cliff. Your Viñales adventure will not be complete without a tour of one of its tobacco plantations, where the sought-after cigars are sourced. Converse with the farmers and learn all about the growing, drying, and rolling process. Return to Havana where you will stay overnight.

Day 4: Havana

After breakfast, kick start your day with a private guided Hemingway tour (La Finca Vigia, Cojimar), followed by a visit to Callejon de Hamel, an artists haven where you will be able to meet with local creators and learn more about the Afro-Cuban culture. The rest of the afternoon will be at leisure for your own activities. We recommend utilizing some of the many recommendations you will receive from your local guide. Stay overnight.

Day 5: Havana - Cienfuegos - Trinidad

Enjoy breakfast, pack your bags and continue your journey via Cienfuegos to Trinidad. Upon arrival, you will begin with a private walking tour of Cienfuegos focused on the historic city center protected under UNESCO. Founded by French immigrants more than 150 years ago, it is known as the “pearl of the south.” This claim is easily backed and immediately spotted within the first encounters of the city. Your travels will then take you to Trinidad, where you will meet your new hosts in a casa particular. To finish the day, we recommend taking a seat on the steps outside the open-air Casa de la Musica. Every night, the area beside the cathedral in Plaza Mayor comes to life with a live salsa band. After a day of venturing, recharge and refresh with a well-deserved good nights sleep. Stay overnight.

Day 6: Trinidad

Rise and shine! Have your favorite Cuban breakfast and a cup of coffee and continue on with your explorations. It’s time to be blown away by the colorful Trinidad. You will learn more about its history and see all the top sights in the city while strolling through the cobblestone streets on your private walking tour. Built on the fortunes of Cuba’s sugar plantations, this city is full of beautifully crafted mansions and sprawling plazas. Your afternoon will be reserved for a visit to Topes de Collantes. Within the park, the main attractions are caves, waterfalls, and clear blue lakes and rivers. There is also ample opportunity for hiking, and to see indigenous plants and wildlife. You will discover the Salto del Caburní, a 200-foot waterfall cascading into cool swimming holes. With these new impressions, you will head back to Trinidad. Stay overnight.

Day 7: Trinidad - Havana

After breakfast at the casa, your journey will continue to Valle de los Ingenios. The Valley of the Sugar Mills is a group of three connected valleys, and at its peak of production, over 50 sugar mills were active there. Due to its importance in Cuban history, it was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Get a taste of the region’s sweet history by exploring the historic sugar mills. In addition, you will not miss the 146-foot-tall Iznaga Tower, which provides an excellent view of the nearby mountains and beaches. It was used to oversee the slaves in the plantation, and as a symbol of the Iznaga family’s power and wealth. Continue towards Havana and upon arrival you will be accommodated for one last night in the colorful city. Make the most of it! Stay overnight.

Day 8: Havana

After a good nights sleep, treat yourself to another breakfast prepared by your hosts. With all the new memories created, it is time to say goodbye to Cuba. Transfer to the airport. Board your flight. End of program.
